OUR STORY
We founded MJN in 2000 as a family investment company to provide office and storage space to the engineering services company we ran. Since then, our portfolio has expanded to include residential and commercial spaces, mainly in Kent, with some in Yorkshire.
Our first property investment was deeply personal. Our success is due to maintaining this approach. We develop spaces we’re proud to call ours and create value by building sustainable relationships with the tenants, agents, contractors and local communities we serve.

We develop our properties with great care, specifying high-quality materials and paying attention to the details. We always seek value for money, but we never cut corners anywhere. Our ethos is to work to the standard we’d want to see if we were developing a property for our own use.

Successful property development is a team effort. It’s why, over the years, we’ve built a strong network of local contractors and suppliers who share our own high standards. Our relationships are built on mutual trust and respect, and a commitment to a job well done.
Doing the right thing by our tenants
Our tenants know we’re hands-off when they need us to be and hands-on when it’s required. On a day-to-day basis we stay out of our tenants’ way. But we undertake regular scheduled inspections to check everything’s working correctly and we’re a WhatsApp away in case of emergency.

We’ve worked with some of our suppliers for decades, and many of our tenants have stayed in our properties for years. We believe our commitment to people and family values helps to forge a shared prosperity and build stronger, better-connected communities.

MJN is owned and managed by husband-and-wife team Matt and Kim Newing. We have worked together for over 20 years and have a shared belief in excellence at every level.
Matt Newing
Managing Director
With his keen eye for market trends and investment opportunities, Matt is the driving force behind MJN.
Matt is an engineer with over 30 years’ experience in the building services industry, and his hands-on approach and extensive technical understanding are invaluable.
He ran a successful commercial building services company alongside MJN for over 20 years, so he has a keen understanding of strategic growth.
Kim Newing
Company Director
Kim takes responsibility for all our legal and regulatory requirements.
As well as her 20 years in property management, Kim is an experienced account manager who is skilled in proactive communication that ensures everything runs smoothly. Together with her extraordinary attention to detail, it means nothing gets overlooked in the office or at our properties.
